Duties and Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging and purposeful English lessons.
• Teaching English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 where required.
• Creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that develops a love of reading, writing and language.
• Supporting students to develop strong communication, analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Differentiating and adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils with SEND and other additional needs.
• Assessing, marking and providing constructive feedback to support student progress.
• Preparing students effectively for GCSE English examinations and supporting strong outcomes.
• Working collaboratively within the English department to contribute to the continued success of the faculty.
• Supporting the wider development of students through positive relationships, high expectations and effective classroom management.
• Encouraging students to take pride in their learning and develop the confidence and skills needed for their future education and careers.
