Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd in Rochdale is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a secondary school from immediate start, covering KS3 and KS4, with a contract until Christmas and potential extension into 2027. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:10pm.

Ideal candidates will have experience teaching English to KS3/KS4, preferably hold QTS, and demonstrate strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching English to KS3/KS4.
• QTS preferred, though experienced teachers without QTS may be considered.
• DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references from recent employment.

Responsibilities

• Teach English across KS3 and KS4.

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: Until Christmas, with potential to extend into 2027

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:10pm

Pay: £160 - £225 per day, depending on experience

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join a secondary school in Rochdale, starting immediately and continuing until Christmas, with the potential for the role to extend into 2027 for the right candidate.

This is a full-time teaching position, Monday to Friday, working with pupils across KS3 and KS4.

The Role

• Teaching English across KS3 and KS4.
• Planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Supporting pupils to make strong progress and achieve their potential.
• Maintaining positive classroom management and high expectations.
• Working collaboratively with the English department and wider school team.
• Full-time hours of 8:30am - 3:10pm, Monday to Friday.
• Initial placement until Christmas, with the possibility of a longer-term extension into 2027.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4.
• Ideally holds QTS, although experienced English teachers without QTS may also be considered.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• A genuine passion for English and supporting young people.
• Reliable, professional and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Available to commit to the full-time role.

Requirements

• Two professional references covering recent relevant employment.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Relevant teaching experience within a secondary school setting.
