Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd in Rochdale is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a secondary school from immediate start, covering KS3 and KS4, with a contract until Christmas and potential extension into 2027. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:10pm.

Ideal candidates will have experience teaching English to KS3/KS4, preferably hold QTS, and demonstrate strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching English to KS3/KS4.
• QTS preferred, though experienced teachers without QTS may be considered.
• DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references from recent employment.

Responsibilities

• Teach English across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons.
• Support pupils to make strong progress and achieve potential.
• Maintain positive classroom management and high expectations.
• Collaborate with the English department and wider school team.
• Full-time hours 8:30am–3:10pm, Monday–Friday.
• Initial placement until Christmas with potential extension into 2027.
