A leading educational staffing agency is recruiting a qualified English Teacher for a full-time position at a secondary school in Durham. This role starts in January 2026 and could lead to a permanent placement. Candidates should possess QTS in Secondary English and experience teaching KS3 and KS4. Teaching Personnel is recruiting a qualified English teacher for a Durham secondary school. Full time position starting January 2026. Temporary with potential to go permanent depending on how it works out.
Pay is £168.80 to £261.78 per day, paid to scale based on your experience.
English across KS3 and KS4. Literature, language, creative writing, the usual. You’ll plan and deliver lessons (following the national curriculum), assess student progress, manage classroom behaviour, and contribute to department life. Some extracurricular involvement expected but nothing excessive.
It’s a full‑time position in a Durham school with decent facilities and supportive leadership. Temporary initially, which gives both you and the school time to see if it’s the right fit before committing long term. That works for some people, doesn’t for others.
