Job Title: English Teacher

We are working with a ‘Good’ secondary school in Macclesfield, seeking an English Teacher to join them on an ongoing basis, starting ASAP. The position is full-time, likely to last for the full academic year.

Responsibilities include immersing yourself in the department, attending departmental meetings, being available for parents’ evenings, and delivering engaging, academically appropriate lessons to challenge students.

The school promotes a warm, happy, and safe environment, emphasizing student pride and cultural diversity through activities like a culture day. Students are given responsibilities such as school council, prefect, or librarian roles. The school fosters a strong community spirit, exemplified by initiatives like the ‘community fridge’. Leadership continuously raises expectations, leading to school-wide improvements. Staff development is supported through ongoing CPD opportunities.

This role is suitable for both newly qualified teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers. Salary ranges from M1 to M6, with potential for threshold pay depending on experience.
