  • Literacy & Reading Leadership: Lead the development of reading and literacy across the academy.
  • Key Stage 3 Support: Support non-specialist teachers in delivering English to Key Stage 3 students.
  • Student Profiling: Conduct baseline assessments in cooperation with the SENCO to develop individual learning plans and specialist Pupil Profiles to support learning and behaviour.
  • Collaborative Support: Maintain a safe, nurture-based educational setting and work closely with the care team to facilitate students' education.
What We Are Looking For

We require an exceptional, passionate and resilient educator who meets the following criteria:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is essential.
  • Experience: Experience developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing learning and behaviour management programmes for young people with specific support needs is essential.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team and demonstrated versatility, creativity and resilience when working with vulnerable pupils.
  • Knowledge: An understanding of inclusion, potential barriers facing young people with SEN/SEMH and current approaches to supporting those at risk of social exclusion.
Benefits of the Role
  • Professional Development: We place a massive emphasis on training, investing heavily in staff at all levels.
  • Specialist Transition Support: If you are looking to make the fulfilling move from mainstream to special/alternative education, we provide dedicated training and specialist support to help you succeed.
  • A Supportive Environment: Benefit from a newly refurbished learning facility, a collaborative team ethos and a culture that truly values care, safety and personal growth.
