English Teacher – Full-time, maternity cover from January 2026

This is an exciting opportunity for an English Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive school community. Duties as English Teacher
  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages in line with the national curriculum
  • Assess, record, and report on pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning
  • Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes a love of literature and language
  • Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and implement effective classroom management strategies
  • Participate in meetings, training, and school events as required
Ideal English Teacher
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
  • Has experience teaching English at secondary level
  • Skilled in differentiating lessons to meet diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Salary – dependent on experience – is paid weekly through PAYE (no self‑employed or umbrella companies).
