Job description

Inspire Through English: Become a 1:1 Intervention Tutor After Easter Half Term

Do you have experience supporting children with additional needs? Are you looking for a flexible, rewarding tutoring role outside of the mainstream classroom?

At TP Tutors, we’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to deliver 1:1 English tuition to children in your local area, starting after Easter half term. This role is ideal for educators with experience working with SEN students—whether as a teacher, teaching assistant, or tutor—who are passionate about making a difference.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  1. Planning and delivering engaging English sessions tailored to individual learning needs
  2. Supporting children face-to-face, including those with ASD, SEMH, or PMLD
  3. Delivering tuition in homes, care settings, or community spaces like libraries (arranged with parents/carers)
  4. Tracking progress and setting meaningful, achievable learning goals
  5. Building students’ confidence and helping them engage with learning
  6. Applying effective behaviour strategies to support focus and progress

This is a meaningful and rewarding role, perfect for those looking to deepen their experience working with SEN learners.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Experience supporting children with special educational needs
  2. Strong background in teaching or tutoring English (KS1–KS4)
  3. Ability to plan and deliver engaging, individualised sessions
  4. Confidence in positive behaviour management
  5. Skills to monitor progress and support learning outcomes

Requirements:
All applicants must undergo standard background checks and hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one—we can help).

What We Offer:

  1. Start date: After Easter half term
  2. Pay rate: £28+ per hour, depending on placement
  3. PAYE payments – no umbrella company deductions
  4. Dedicated consultant support
  5. Access to CPD and ongoing professional development

If you're ready to help young learners discover their voice and thrive through English, we’d love to hear from you.
