Job Description:

• Delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS3 & KS4), with opportunities to teach at Key Stage 5 (KS5) for the right candidate
• Inspiring students through the study of classic and contemporary texts, creative writing, and spoken language
• Embedding key literacy skills and promoting analytical thinking, and textual interpretation
• Using formative and summative assessment to track progress and inform responsive teaching
• Contributing to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities such as debating clubs, school productions, and World Book Day events

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience teaching English in a UK secondary school (desirable but not essential)
• Be passionate about literature, language, and the written word, with a flair for making texts come alive
• Demonstrate strong classroom management, high expectations, and a commitment to inclusive practice
• Be reflective, collaborative, and committed to continuous professional development
• Hold a current enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one
