Supply Desk is currently looking for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Borehamwood. The role is available for a September start, offering a fantastic opportunity to inspire and educate students through the English curriculum. This is a full-time position, ideal for a teacher who wants to make a genuine impact on young learners' academic and personal development.

Job Description:
• Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that engage, challenge, and support students across KS3 and KS4.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing clear feedback and reporting outcomes to key stakeholders.
• Support the development and implementation of the English curriculum in line with national standards.
• Foster a positive classroom environment, managing behaviour effectively and encouraging student participation.
• Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, contributing to their overall wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, including the English department and wider school team, to promote best practices.
• Engage in professional development and contribute to the school’s CPD programme.
• Participate in school events, parents' evenings, and enrichment opportunities.
Our ideal candidate will:
• Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Have experience teaching English in a UK secondary school (experience with GCSE preferred).
• Possess excellent subject knowledge and a passion for the English language and literature.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
• Have the ability to differentiate lessons to support varying levels of ability.
• Be committed to ongoing professional development and reflective teaching practice.
• Be a team player with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Hold or be willing to obtain a clear DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
• Be enthusiastic about contributing to the life and culture of the school community.
