Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is actively seeking an enthusiastic English Supply Teacher to join our flexible Northampton portfolio from September 2026. You will deliver engaging lessons and adapt to multiple schools, ensuring progression and continuity of learning.

You could be an experienced teacher, an Early Career Teacher (ECT), or seeking greater flexibility, with opportunities across Key Stages 3 and 4, and occasional KS5, in welcoming secondary schools.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS/QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.
• Confident delivering lessons independently across KS3 and KS4.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to establish positive relationships quickly.
• Adaptable, reliable, and confident working across different school environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and purposeful English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (with KS5 opportunities).
• Follow pre-planned lesson plans and schemes of work to ensure continuity of learning.
• Create a positive and well-managed classroom environment.
• Support students in reading, writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Adapt teaching to meet needs of SEND and EAL learners.
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff.
• Provide timely feedback to colleagues on student progress and engagement.

The Role

• Deliver engaging and purposeful English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with some Key Stage 5 opportunities available
• Follow existing lesson plans and schemes of work, ensuring continuity of learning
• Create a positive and well-managed classroom environment
• Support students in developing their reading, writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Adapt your teaching approach to meet the needs of different learners, including students with SEND and EAL needs
• Maintain high expectations for student behaviour, engagement, and achievement
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff
• Provide feedback to relevant teaching staff regarding student progress, behaviour, and engagement
• Quickly settle into different school environments and become a confident member of the wider school team

About You
