Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Kent is recruiting an English Specialist to support the delivery of English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, in multiple secondary schools. You will lead small-group and one-to-one intervention, help improve reading, writing, spelling and grammar, and assist teachers with lesson preparation.

This role offers flexible, long-term, short-term, and daily supply placements with ongoing consultant support and opportunities to gain valuable school-based experience.

Qualifications

• Strong English knowledge and understanding of English Language and/or English Literature.
• Experience tutoring English or supporting learners in an educational setting.
• Previous experience working in schools, colleges, tuition centres, or youth settings.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of English Language and English Literature lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Lead small-group and one-to-one intervention sessions.
• Help students improve reading comprehension, writing, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
• Provide targeted support for students preparing for GCSE examinations.
• Encourage a love of reading and confidence in written and verbal communication.
• Work across multiple secondary schools throughout Kent.
