Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking a patient SEND English Tutor to provide personalised one-to-one English tuition to a secondary learner in Leominster, Herefordshire. The role focuses on supporting a learner with SEND and adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs in an in-person setting.

The tutor will help develop reading, writing, comprehension, spelling, grammar and vocabulary, build confidence, and create a calm, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Strong English subject knowledge at secondary level.
• Experience teaching or tutoring English.
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Experience providing one-to-one support is desirable.
• Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual SEND needs.

Responsibilities

Quantum Scholars are looking for a patient, supportive and experienced SEND English Tutor to provide personalised one-to-one English tuition to a young person in Leominster.

The successful tutor will have experience supporting learners with SEND and be confident adapting their teaching style, pace and resources to meet individual needs. You will be able to build a positive relationship with the learner and create a calm, supportive environment where they feel comfortable engaging with education.

Experience supporting young people who have barriers to mainstream education, including anxiety, school avoidance, disengagement or SEMH needs, would be highly desirable.

This is an in-person tutoring role and is not online work.

The role may involve:

• Providing personalised one-to-one English tuition to a secondary-aged learner.
• Supporting a young person with SEND and/or additional learning needs.
• Adapting English lessons, resources and teaching approaches to suit individual needs.
• Supporting reading, writing, comprehension, spelling, grammar and vocabulary.
