Job summary

Monarch Education seeks an English Lecturer at a B31 college campus to start immediately. The role is a 24-hour-per-week temporary contract running Monday to Thursday, with responsibilities across planning, delivering, and assessing English lessons for post-16 learners.

The ideal candidate will hold an English degree and a recognised teaching qualification, with a DBS check or willingness to obtain one, to support learners in literacy and academic skills development.

Qualifications

• Recognised English degree (or equivalent) and a recognised teaching qualification are required.
• Experience delivering English to post-16 learners and strong knowledge across English language/literature.
• Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS on update service or already held.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English lessons meeting curriculum and awarding body requirements.
• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality teaching for learner progress.
• Assess progress, provide feedback, and maintain learner records.
• Support learners of varying abilities and maintain inclusive learning environment.

English Lecturer – B31 – Immediate Start

We are currently recruiting for a skilled and enthusiastic English Lecturer to join a well-established college campus in B31. This is a temporary assignment offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to a successful English department and support learners in developing their literacy, communication and academic skills.

• Location: B31 (College Campus)
• Start Date: Immediate Start
• Contract Type: Temporary Contract
• Working Hours: 24 hours per week
• Working Days: Monday – Thursday
• Qualification Required: Must hold a degree in English (or a relevant subject) and a recognised teaching qualification

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• A recognised teaching qualification and the ability to deliver English programmes
• A degree in English, English Language, English Literature or a relevant subject specialism
• Strong subject knowledge across English Language, Literature and Functional Skills English
• Experience delivering engaging classroom-based learning to post-16 learners
• The ability to engage, motivate and support learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals
• Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to inclusive teaching and learning
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective English lessons that meet curriculum and awarding body requirements
• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality teaching that supports learner progress and achievement
• Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate learner records
