High Peak School, part of the Kedleston Group, is seeking an experienced English Lead to champion reading and lead the English department. You will line manage English teachers and drive school-wide reading initiatives from KS2 to KS4.

The role offers a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) allowance of £3,651 in addition to salary and SEN allowance, reflecting leadership responsibilities and curriculum development across the school.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience of teaching English with secure curriculum knowledge.
• Ability to lead and develop reading provision and contribute to strategic development of English across KS2–KS4.
• Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with inclusive practice.

Responsabilités

• Lead reading across the school and promote a positive reading culture.
• Drive English curriculum development across KS2–KS4 with appropriate progression.
• Champion high-quality teaching and support colleagues to strengthen classroom practice.
• Raise standards using pupil progress data to identify priorities and close gaps.
• Develop inclusive approaches for pupils with ASC, ADHD and additional needs.
• Inspire pupils through engaging English lessons and develop literacy skills.
• Support progression and accreditation including relevant qualifications.
• Work with families and external professionals to improve outcomes.
