Job summary

Farnworth CE Primary in Widnes is seeking an energetic Class Teacher who will also hold the TL R for English. You will lead the development of English across the school, set out a clear progression for reading and writing, and work with the Senior Leadership Team to secure high-quality teaching and strong pupil outcomes.

This role includes delivering CPD and coaching for staff, analysing assessment data, ensuring texts match pupils’ abilities, and promoting the school's Christian values.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with QTS and primary experience.
• Experience leading English in primary setting.
• Strong pedagogy in literacy and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Teach a class to a consistently high standard with engaging lessons.
• Lead English across the school: develop progression for reading and writing, monitor outcomes.
• Deliver CPD, coaching and modelling to develop staff subject knowledge in English.
• Analyse assessment information and report progress to senior leaders.
• Ensure books/readers texts match pupils’ phonic and reading ability; support fluency.
• Promote the school’s Christian values and contribute to school life.
