Job summary

North East Scotland College is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Vocational Assessor to assess the MA Engineering Vocational programme. The role involves assessing engineering apprentices in the workplace and supporting learners to achieve success.

The ideal candidate will hold SVQ level 3 in engineering or an equivalent qualification, with Assessor/Verifier training desirable and a commitment to professional development.

Salary: £36,295.71 - £39,069.00 per annum

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated professional to assess our MA Engineering Vocational programme.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified Vocational Assessor with an SVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent qualification in the subject area, or suitable industrial experience in the subject area. They will have excellent communication and presentation skills and a proven track record of engaging with learners that results in motivating them to succeed.

If you are a highly effective team player who actively supports colleagues, have the ability to build and maintain effective Employer/Apprentice relationships, and have relevant industry experience, we want you to come and join our team.

This post will involve the assessment of engineering apprentices in the workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Educated to HNC level (SCQF Level 7) or equivalent in the relevant subject area
2. Have an SVQ level 3 in an engineering subject or have a minimum of 3 years industrial experience in engineering activities
3. Assessor training qualifications*
4. Verifier training qualifications*
5. Evidence of continuous professional development

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

1. Up to date vocational experience in the relevant area.
2. Experience as a trainer or experience of training staff in the relevant area
3. Up to date industry knowledge in the relevant area
4. Knowledge of the type of programmes available in further education
5. Knowledge of a range of assessment methods.
