Job summary

Mabey Hire is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our engineering team. You will produce temporary works design drawings and 2D/3D Revit models for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework, ensuring clarity and practicality for site teams.

Reporting to a Design Team Leader, you will collaborate with engineers to develop layouts and equipment schedules, help create fabrication drawings, and contribute to CAD standards while building knowledge of Mabey Hire’s products on varied

Qualifications

• Experience using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Interest in civil engineering or temporary works.
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 2D drawings and 3D Revit models for temporary works.
• Translate concepts into accurate drawings for customers and site teams.
• Work with engineers to develop layouts and construction solutions.
• Develop understanding of Mabey Hire's products and systems.
• Assist in production of equipment schedules and kit lists.
• Create fabrication drawings for bespoke components when required.
• Manage workload and deliver to quality standards and deadlines.
• Contribute to CAD standards and Revit content improvements.
• Pursue ongoing training to progress engineering career.

Engineering Technician (Revit / Civil Engineering & Temporary Works)

This enables us to deliver the right temporary works solution for our customers, whatever the scale or complexity of the project. Our customers include civil engineering and construction contractors, asset owners, and consulting engineering firms through to small builders.

Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for an Engineering Technician to join our engineering team. Reporting to a Design Team Leader, you will be responsible for producing temporary works design drawings for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework.

You will

• Create high-quality 2D drawings and 3D Revit models that clearly communicate temporary works designs for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework schemes.
• Translate engineering concepts into accurate and practical drawings that can be used by customers, site teams and operational colleagues.
• Work closely with engineers to develop layouts, details and construction solutions for a wide range of civil engineering and construction projects.
• Develop a strong understanding of Mabey Hire's products and systems.
• Assist in the production of accurate equipment schedules and kit lists to support quotations, project planning and site delivery.
• Create fabrication and manufacturing drawings for bespoke components and special parts when required.
• Manage your own workload effectively and deliver work to agreed quality standards and project deadlines.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of CAD standards, Revit content and engineering processes.
• Build your technical knowledge through ongoing training and development, with opportunities to progress your engineering career.

You will have

• Experience using Revit and/or AutoCAD.

We Would Also Love It If You Have

• Experience producing drawings for civil engineering, groundworks or temporary works projects.
• Experience working in construction, engineering consultancy, plant hire or specialist subcontracting.
• HNC, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related subject.
• Experience with content creation in either Revit or AutoCAD
