Job summary

Mabey Hire is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team in the UK, producing temporary works drawings using Revit and AutoCAD for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework schemes.

You will translate engineering concepts into practical drawings, collaborate with engineers on layouts and construction solutions, and help develop Mabey Hire’s product understanding and CAD standards while advancing your engineering career.

Qualifications

• Experience using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Detail-oriented and accurate drawing ability.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Interest in civil engineering, construction or temporary works.
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 2D drawings and 3D Revit models for temporary works designs.
• Translate engineering concepts into accurate drawings for customers, site teams and operations.
• Work with engineers to develop layouts, details and construction solutions.
• Develop understanding of Mabey Hire's products and systems.
• Assist in producing equipment schedules and kit lists to support quotations and planning.
• Create fabrication drawings for bespoke components when required.
• Manage workload and deliver work to agreed quality standards and deadlines.
• Contribute to CAD standards, Revit content and engineering processes.
• Build technical knowledge through training with opportunities to progress.

Engineering Technician (Revit / Civil Engineering & Temporary Works)

Job type - Fulltime, Permanent

We are a leading temporary works specialist and at the forefront of our industry for over 60 years, with a reputation built on engineering and service excellence. This enables us to deliver the right temporary works solution for our customers, whatever the scale or complexity of the project. Our customers include civil engineering and construction contractors, asset owners, and consulting engineering firms through to small builders.

Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for an Engineering Technician to join our engineering team. Reporting to a Design Team Leader, you will be responsible for producing temporary works design drawings for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework.

You will

• Create high-quality 2D drawings and 3D Revit models that clearly communicate temporary works designs for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework schemes.
• Translate engineering concepts into accurate and practical drawings that can be used by customers, site teams and operational colleagues.
• Work closely with engineers to develop layouts, details and construction solutions for a wide range of civil engineering and construction projects.
• Develop a strong understanding of Mabey Hire's products and systems.
• Assist in the production of accurate equipment schedules and kit lists to support quotations, project planning and site delivery.
• Create fabrication and manufacturing drawings for bespoke components and special parts when required.
• Manage your own workload effectively and deliver work to agreed quality standards and project deadlines.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of CAD standards, Revit content and engineering processes.
• Build your technical knowledge through ongoing training and development, with opportunities to progress your engineering career.

You will have

• Experience using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• An interest in civil engineering, construction or temporary works.
• Ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.

We Would Also Love It If You Have

• Experience producing drawings for civil engineering, groundworks or temporary works projects.
• Experience working in construction, engineering consultancy, plant hire or specialist subcontracting.
• HNC, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related subject.
• Experience with content creation in either Revit or AutoCAD
