Job summary

Stagecoach Taffs Well is seeking a PSV/HGV Technician to keep our low-emission fleet safe and reliable. You will maintain and service buses to DVSA standards and diagnose faults using modern tools.

We offer full training, competitive pay, and overtime opportunities. The role requires a City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in PSV/HGV maintenance and a full UK driving license. Based at Taffs Well depot near Cardiff.

Qualifications

• Qualified PSV/HGV maintenance knowledge and hands-on experience.
• Experience servicing commercial vehicles, ideally buses/coaches.
• Valid UK driving licence and safety-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and servicing buses to Stagecoach safety standards.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults with diagnostic tools.
• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance including roadside repairs.
• Reporting defects and ensuring work complies with policies.
• Collaborating with workshop colleagues and mentoring juniors.

• Pay rate of £19.47 per hour
• Overtime paid at enhanced rate
• One in four Shift pattern of 5 over 7, Including day and afternoon shifts

Looking for a hands-on engineering role where your skills keep public transport moving?

We're on the lookout for a PCV/HGV Technician to join our close-knit team at Stagecoach Taffs well. You'll play a vital role in keeping our low-emission fleet safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community.

What you'll be doing:

• Maintaining and servicing buses to Stagecoach and DVSA safety standards
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic tools
• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, including roadside repairs
• Reporting defects and completing all work safely and in line with policies
• Collaborating with workshop colleagues and supporting junior team members

What we're looking for:

• A qualified engineer with City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in PSV or HGV Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Previous hands-on experience servicing and repairing commercial vehicles, ideally in a bus, coach, truck, or HGV environment although we are open to different backgrounds
• Confident using diagnostic tools and service manuals
• A proactive, safety-first approach
• A team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
• A full UK driving licence
