Job summary

SERB Pharmaceuticals in Wales is seeking an Engineering Technician to perform day-to-day repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical plant, ensuring safe operations in a high-spec production environment.

The successful candidate will have mechanical/electrical engineering experience, be able to read electrical schematics, and support maintenance regimes including calibration, with a focus on reliability and cost efficiency across SCADA-enabled systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering.
• Ability to read electrical and control schematics.
• HVAC installation and test experience is desirable.
• Fault finding and repair of automated plant (PLC) is essential.
• Experience with steam generating plant is desirable.
• Experience with water filtration and purification systems is desirable.
• Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards on a wide range of plant.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day repair and maintenance of electrical/mechanical plant.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance safely and report unsafe practices to Engineering manager.
• Support and carry out maintenance and calibration regimes for planned maintenance system.
• Share engineering knowledge with the team to move towards a multi-skilled department.
• Clean as you go – maintain high housekeeping standards.
• Support in maintaining all plant to meet production, validation and project needs; ensure QEIO and Change owner responsibilities are carried out on time.
• Minimise consumable costs using SCADA data analysis.
