Job description

Job Title: Engineering Technician

Salary: £34,716 plus a shift allowance of £5,208 per annum (+ £1,404 per annum gowning allowance)

Job Type: Full-time / Permanent

Location: Wrexham, LL13 9UF

Hours: 2 shift rota (Monday to Friday, 6am - 2pm, 1.30pm - 9.30pm)

Are you a mechanically biased Engineering Technician with experience working within the aseptic filling area and a desire to make a real difference?

The successful candidate will provide engineering support within the Sterile Products Facility's Grade A, B, and C areas, working a shift rota (2 shifts: 6 am - 2 pm, 1.30 pm - 9.30 pm) supporting products for patients.

Role Overview

  1. Operate in accordance with current engineering procedures, compliance with cGMP, and all applicable UK laws.
  2. Perform sizing and component changeovers on washing, filling, and sealing machines for vial and ampoule parenteral product production.
  3. Conduct day-to-day maintenance on washing, filling, and sealing machines for ampoules and vials, ensuring compliance with cGMP.
  4. Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and reliability tasks on equipment.
  5. Proactively manage lines to maximize uptime and reduce setup and changeover times.
  6. Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve processes, equipment, safety, and efficiency.

What we're looking for:

  1. Recognized Engineering Apprenticeship (Multi-Skilled qualification is advantageous).
  2. Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with excellent fault-finding, rectification, and communication skills.
  3. Understanding of pharmaceutical engineering, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  4. Experience working in Grade A, B, and C pharmaceutical environments is essential.
  5. Practical experience in reliability engineering and implementing reliability strategies.
  6. Ownership of equipment and areas, maintaining standards, and seeking continuous improvement.
  7. Experience with lean and continuous improvement principles, with demonstrated results.
