Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective handover of information across shifts.
• Diagnose faults and perform maintenance on mechanical/electrical equipment.
• Coach operators with asset care tasks.
• Observe, recognise and report defects or symptoms of failure and update CMMS data.
• Contact OEMs and suppliers for technical support and expedite parts.
• Lead shift-based problem solving where corrective actions aren’t clear.
• Coach operators with asset care tasks.
• Identify and implement improvements.
• Identify life cycle issues and raise recommendations.
• Support 5S programmes for workshops and stores.

Job description

Engineering Technician – Severnside Dairy, Muller Milk & Ingredients

Permanent contract: 4 on 4 off (2 days & 2 nights, 7-7). The role provides safe frontline reactive maintenance, identifies root causes, and supports improvements to site assets and equipment to improve efficiency and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• To ensure effective handover of information across shifts
• Use PMS to support prioritisation and problem solving (RCFA)
• Diagnose faults and test, repair and maintain mechanical/electrical equipment
• Observe, recognise and report machinery/component defects or symptoms of impending failure and provide CMMS data
• Contact OEMs and suppliers for technical support as required and expedite parts when not available on site
• Lead shift-based problem solving where corrective actions aren’t clear
• Work as ONE TEAM with First Line Response Technician
• Coach operators with asset care tasks
• Identify and implement improvements
• Identify life cycle issues and raise recommendations
• Use and support simple 5WHY OE techniques / RCA techniques through to long-term fixes
• Support 5S programmes for workshops and stores
