Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth operation of their packaging facility. In this role, you will perform maintenance inspections, repair and install a variety of mechanical equipment, and actively participate in discussions regarding equipment health. You will also utilize a CMMS system for work orders and support organizational initiatives. Qualifications

  • C&G, NVQ, ONC, or HNC in Mechanical Maintenance/Engineering required.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Perform planned maintenance inspections on mechanical equipment throughout the packaging facility.
  2. Repair and install a wide range of mechanical equipment using precision maintenance techniques.
  3. Inspect equipment and participate in equipment health discussions.
  4. Respond to breakdowns and repairs to support production.
  5. Use the CMMS system to raise and update work orders.
  6. Participate in creating risk assessments and method statements for maintenance tasks.
  7. Understand maintenance metrics.
  8. Support organizational initiatives.
  9. Mentor and coach colleagues and apprentices where needed.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including email.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office packages.
  • Knowledge of CMMS is preferable.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable and adaptable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Skills in machining and welding.

Education & Experience:

  • C&G, NVQ, ONC, or HNC in Mechanical Maintenance/Engineering.
  • Mechanical maintenance apprenticeship.
