The role

As an Engineering Technician, you’ll work with the Support business to deliver complex deep maintenance periods for the Royal Navy’s Type 23 Frigates. Your responsibilities will include maintaining electrical and mechanical systems onboard vessels during deep maintenance and contributing to system regeneration to ensure operational readiness:

• Conduct maintenance of dedicated mechanical and electrical systems
• Report on system equipment and condition to ensure stakeholder awareness
• Rectify equipment defects

This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, based on-site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience

• Qualified Electrical or Mechanical Technician with good engineering standards
• Ability to meet physical requirements and work onboard ships for maintenance duties
• IT skills for defect reporting and maintenance management systems
• Flexibility to perform various tasks, including general marine maintenance
• Proactive attitude and good communication skills

Qualifications

• ONC, Level 3 NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent in an engineering specialization

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain SC security clearance. Some positions are subject to security vetting and restrictions based on nationality and residency.
