Job summary

Circle Health Group in Glasgow is seeking an Engineering Technician (Multiskilled) - Electrical (Preferred) to join the Ross Hall Cluster. This full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week role involves on-call duties and a flexible shift pattern to support multiple sites within the cluster.

The candidate will perform planned and reactive maintenance, provide technical and safety support, and mentor other engineers. Opportunities for training and career development are available.

Qualifications

  • CSCS Card at appropriate level and ECS Card if electrically qualified.
  • Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical discipline is required.
  • Ability to read drawings and follow technical documentation.
  • Strong Health and Safety awareness and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure prompt completion of all work orders including planned maintenance, reactive tasks, sub-contracts and remedial activities.
  • Provide routine and specialised engineering maintenance and breakdown support to a hospital site.
  • Provide technical, health, safety and environmental support and follow company policies.
  • Train, mentor and support other site technicians and engineering assistants.
  • Offer engineering advice to Local Hospital managers as required.
  • Demonstrate high engineering standards with integrity and build team ethos.
  • Adhere to all mandatory training requirements.

37.5 Hours & Permanent
Salary: Up to £40,995.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Ross Hall Cluster in Glasgow is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for an Engineering Technician to join their team of staff in the Engineering department.

This is an engineering role (Electrical/Mechanical) and the engineer employed will not be working on any clinical equipment.

This is a full- time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.The engineer will be part of an on-call rota supporting the sites within the Ross Hall cluster.

Duties of this role include:

To ensure the prompt completion of all work orders for planned maintenance, reactive response, specialist sub-contract work orders and remedial work orders.

Provide routine and specialised engineering maintenance and breakdown support to a specific hospital site.

Provide competent technical, health, safety and environmental support & assistance as required and follow company policies and procedures.

Provide training, mentoring and hands-on assistance to any additional Site based Technicians or Engineering Assistants.

Provide Engineering support and advice to the Local Hospital managers as required.

Demonstrate a can-do culture based on exemplary engineering standards in an environment of open and honest integrity.

Help build and develop a strong team ethos.

You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Current Construction Safety Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card at appropriate level of qualification. If electrically qualified, current Electro-technical Certification Scheme (ECS) Card required

City& Guilds Part 3, ONC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering essential

There will be training to advance new Engineers in Medical gases where they will gain (RP) Responsible Person training so they are able to support sites with the day-to-day medical gas works (low hazard works) & can then progress over time up to an (AP) Authorised Person (High Hazard works).

Time served apprenticeship in a Mechanical or Electrical biased discipline essential

Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety guidelines (Also supported by local H&S Reps).

Desirable - Understanding of L8 Legionella ACOP within Hospital buildings. Training will be provided where required.

Demonstrated high level of organisation & time management skills, particularly in an environment with multiple, and sometimes conflicting priorities

Sound fault finding techniques and ability to read drawings.

Must hold a UK full driving licence.

Applicant will need to pass a DBS check.
