Job summary

2 Sisters Food Group in Thetford is seeking a senior engineer to act as the lead engineering presence on shift, setting standards, shaping maintenance on both day and night cycles. The role emphasizes fault diagnosis, decisive action, and driving disciplined engineering practice.

• Time-served, multi-skilled engineer with strong Mechanical & Electrical capability.
• Strong experience in a manufacturing environment (food preferred).
• Previous supervisory or acting team leader experience or a Senior Engineer looking to progress into leadership.
• Comfortable taking ownership and leading by example.
• Confident decision-maker with a calm, practical approach.

About the Role

Our Thetford operation is a breaded/coated product centre of excellence. As a value added, non-kill site we have no live animals or butchery onsite. It uses best in class equipment, which enables the site to deliver significant environmental benefits. The low-energy building is the flagship development within the 2 Sisters Food Group.

As the senior engineering presence on shift, you'll take the lead on day-to-day engineering activities, ensuring breakdowns, issues, and risks are reported, escalated, and resolved effectively. You'll be comfortable making decisions, thinking on your feet, and setting the standard for engineering best practice and discipline on shift.
