Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe is seeking a hands-on Engineering Team Leader with strong mechanical and electrical expertise to lead maintenance activities, drive continuous improvement, and support critical site services across our operation. The role is based in Linton and operates a rotating shift pattern covering 7 days a week, averaging 40 hours with 2 weekends in the 8-week cycle.

Qualifications

• Electrical and mechanical engineering qualifications required.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Strong computer skills and CMMS experience.
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers to ensure safe, efficient site operations.
• Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes and respond to breakdowns.
• Support and maintain site services including boilers, cooling, water systems.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults quickly.
• Maintain maintenance records using CMMS.

Engineering Team Leader
Location: Linton

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading a team of engineers to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable site operations.
• Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes and responding effectively to breakdowns.
• Supporting and maintaining site services, including boilers, cooling systems, water systems, and fabrication work.
• Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults quickly and effectively.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records using our computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).

Essential

• Electrical and mechanical engineering qualifications.

• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Strong computer skills and experience using maintenance management systems.
