Job summary

Smarkets is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to lead a team of software engineers who build, manage, and maintain the microservices powering our products. You will guide direction, career growth, and ensure the right stack for scalable, high-performance services.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will drive planning, hire great people, and champion quality engineering while exploring future technology adoption paths and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience building microservices for high speed and high scale products.
• 3+ years of experience with a modern tech stack (Rust, C++, Java, etc).
• Previous experience leading a team technically or directly.

Responsibilities

• Report to the VP of Engineering and directly manage a team of engineers.
• Drive sprint planning with proper scoping alongside Program Management.
• Hire great people and keep them motivated and challenged.
• Support engineers' career growth and maintain high engineering standards.
• Define next technology adoption paths for the stack.
• Represent the team in cross-functional meetings and events.
