Job summary

Argon Engineering Limited in Redditch, Worcestershire, is seeking an experienced Assistant Engineering Manager to lead a high‑volume food manufacturing site’s engineering function. Qualifications

• Experience in a food manufacturing FMCG environment.
• Experience leading engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of PPM and preventative maintenance strategies.
• Good mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
• Experience reducing downtime and improving OEE.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Engineering Manager in day-to-day engineering management.
• Lead and supervise engineering teams, including shift engineers and team leaders.
• Ensure PPM schedules are delivered on time.
• Drive improvements in equipment reliability and OEE.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
• Develop engineers and apprentices through coaching and mentoring.
• Collaborate with Production to minimise downtime and improve efficiency.
