Hunter Selection is working with a Bristol-based manufacturing business to appoint an Engineering Team Leader who will head a small engineering team on shift, ensuring equipment reliability and driving continuous improvement to deliver strong engineering performance.

The successful candidate will typically have 5+ years in manufacturing, an engineering qualification, and prior leadership experience. A focus on safety and compliance will be essential as you improve site performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Engineering qualification (Level 2 or above).
• Experience leading or supervising engineers.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Continuous improvement mindset and proactive approach.
• FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of up to 5 engineers on shift.
• Coordinate planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Support rapid response to breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
• Ensure engineering standards, safety and compliance.
• Collaborate with Maintenance & Engineering Manager to boost site performance.

Salary: Up to £57,500 (£75k+ earning potential)

I'm currently working with a leading manufacturing business in Bristol that is looking to appoint an Engineering Team Leader to support the continued development of their engineering function.

This opportunity would suit either an experienced Engineering Team Leader or a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to take the next step into leadership. You'll lead a team of engineers on shift, ensuring equipment reliability, driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the day-to-day delivery of engineering performance.

The Role:

• Lead, coach and develop a team of up to 5 engineers
• Coordinate and oversee planned preventative maintenance activities
• Support rapid response to breakdowns and minimise production downtime
• Drive continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities
• Ensure engineering standards, safety and compliance are maintained
• Work closely with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager to improve site performance

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing environment
• Engineering qualification (Level 2 or above)
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising engineers
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Positive, proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
• FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing experience highly desirable
