Job summary

VPK in Selby is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Supervisor to support the Engineering Manager in leading and coordinating engineering and maintenance activities across our operation.

You will supervise engineers and technicians, plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, uphold health, safety, environmental and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement through project and contractor management.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• Proven experience in engineering or maintenance supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and engineering best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support engineering and maintenance teams to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to maximise uptime and reliability.
• Coordinate engineering projects, installations, and upgrades.
• Manage contractor activities and ensure work is completed safely and to specification.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and development opportunities for team members.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
• Support root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for equipment failures.
• Manage engineering resources and materials effectively.
