Job summary

Chesterfield Poultry in Doncaster is seeking an Engineering Stores Operative to efficiently manage engineering spare parts and maintenance consumables in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting.

You will receive and book in deliveries, maintain CMMS records, issue parts to engineers, monitor stock, and liaise with suppliers to keep downtime to a minimum while upholding food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous stores/warehouse or inventory experience.
• Good IT skills with stock control systems or CMMS.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
• Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check, and book in deliveries of engineering parts, tools, and consumables.
• Maintain accurate stock records using CMMS or stock control system.
• Issue parts to engineers and track usage against work orders.
• Monitor stock levels and reorder materials in line with minimum/maximum levels.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes, place orders, and track deliveries.
• Ensure all parts stored correctly and safely, following food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts, investigating discrepancies.
• Manage and organise the stores area for efficiency and accessibility.
• Support engineering and maintenance during planned maintenance and breakdowns.
• Identify opportunities to improve stock control processes and reduce waste/costs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety and food safety standards.
