Job summary

Qualifications

Looking for a challenging and rewarding leadership role in the engineering industry?

Join our client’s team as an Engineering Services Manager and be part of a dynamic and innovative organisation. The Engineering Services Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all aspects of M&E system operations, both planned and reactive maintenance. You will manage and develop a team of technicians and oversee the service desk function.

  • Reporting to Senior Management, you'll lead a team of skilled technicians to manage all aspects of M&E system operations, including planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
  • You will supervise the service desk and coordinate small repairs.
  • As a great communicator, you'll build positive relationships with occupiers and manage and appraise direct reports in line with company policies.
  • You will ensure staff are trained and regularly drilled on the safe operation of all M&E plant and systems.
  • You will maintain accurate records of work completed and associated costs, and ensure statutory compliance in line with site and company procedures.
  • Holds a valid IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
  • Mechanically biased with good knowledge of M&E services.
  • A team leader with strong management skills capable of working effectively with people at all levels and handling challenging situations.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a managerial role within a multi-discipline hard and soft services environment.
  • Good working knowledge of assets like plumbing, HVAC systems, controls, refrigeration, electrical/mechanical systems, and managing cooling towers.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems.
  • HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience in recruiting, managing, and appraising staff.
  • Experience in coordinating training and safety drills.
  • Ability to develop and implement new processes, procedures, and business plans.
