Job summary

RSE is seeking an Engineering Resource Planner to join our Inverness team on a full‑time basis. You will coordinate the allocation of engineering resources across project portfolios and provide clear visibility of availability and gaps.

Reporting to Senior Management, you will support design, engineering, production and delivery teams to align resources with milestones and delivery objectives. Collaborating across the Design, Delivery, Commissioning and Commercial teams, you will help ensure

Qualifications

• Demonstrable resource planning experience within similar engineering environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to develop and recommend alternative resource approaches.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Experience coordinating resource plans across design, engineering, construction, installation and commissioning.
• Understanding of engineering project lifecycles from tender to delivery.
• Excellent communication with engineers, delivery managers and senior leaders.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop resource programmes to inform tenders with cost-loading and milestone dates.
• Build and maintain resource plans across engineering disciplines.
• Provide resource extracts from master programmes to teams.
• Incorporate contractor, sub-contractor, supplier programmes into the overall plan.
• Monitor and update progress and status of resource programmes.
• Identify critical activities and propose remediation actions.
• Identify resourcing gaps and conflicts early; propose options.
• Track utilisation and skills matrix; keep tools current.
• Develop and maintain regular resourcing reports and dashboards.
• Attend project and engineering review meetings to ground plans in status.
• Maintain and improve resource planning tools and processes.
