James Fisher Defence (JFD) is seeking an experienced resource planning professional to lead engineering capacity planning, forecasting and optimisation across projects. The role focuses on utilisation, governance, and continuous improvement of planning processes, working with Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning and key stakeholders to improve visibility and delivery across global operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain engineering resource plans, ensuring accurate allocation of personnel to meet project and organisational priorities.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering leads, and functional stakeholders to understand short- and long-term resource requirements including bid work.
• Use planning tools (P6) to build and update resource forecasts, identify gaps or conflicts, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Establish, implement, and refine resource management processes, dashboards, and communication practices to improve visibility, consistency, and efficiency.
• Monitor resource utilisation and performance data, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
• Support portfolio-level planning activities, including demand forecasting, scenario modelling, and capacity planning.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to resource planning, scheduling, and communication workflows.
• Ensure alignment with governance, quality, and compliance requirements across all resource planning activities.
