Job summary

Ross-Shire Engineering Limited is seeking an Engineering Resource Planner for our Inverness team. You will coordinate resource allocation across project portfolios, providing visibility of availability, commitments, and gaps to Project Management and Engineering Leadership, with a role across Design, Delivery, Commissioning and Commercial teams.

You will develop resource programmes, maintain plans across disciplines, and produce regular reports to keep projects on track for on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable resource planning experience within similar engineering environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience coordinating resource plans across design, engineering, construction, installation and commissioning.
• Understanding of engineering project lifecycles from tender to delivery.
• Excellent communication with engineers, delivery managers and senior leaders.
• Methodical, analytical approach with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop resource programmes informing tenders with cost-loaded, dependency-driven schedules.
• Build and maintain resource plans across engineering disciplines.
• Provide detailed resource extracts to Design, Engineering, Production & Delivery Teams.
• Integrate contractor, sub-contractor, supplier and third-party programmes.
• Monitor and update progress of resource programmes.
• Identify critical activities and propose remedial actions to resolve constraints.
• Track utilisation, availability and skills matrix for the engineering team.
• Develop regular resourcing reports and dashboards for leadership.
• Maintain and improve resource planning tools and processes.
• Attend project and engineering review meetings to ground plans in status.
