Projects will typically range from £100k to £5m+, covering manufacturing, process, packaging and distribution improvements.

The Role

As Engineering Project Manager, you will take full ownership of the capital project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required operational, quality and food-safety standards.

You will work closely with site leadership, operations, quality, engineering, health and safety teams, alongside external contractors, suppliers and OEMs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple capital projects simultaneously, ranging from smaller site improvements through to major investment programmes.

  • Ensure projects comply with CDM Regulations, PUWER, DSEAR, ATEX, COSHH, LEV and machinery compliance requirements.
  • Produce clear project reports covering progress, milestones, risks, costs and delivery performance.
  • Maintain complete, audit-ready project documentation including specifications, FAT/SAT protocols, training records, O&M manuals, certifications and as-built information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve capacity, productivity, reliability, safety and manufacturing technology.
About You

You will be an experienced Engineering Project Manager with a strong manufacturing or process engineering background. You will be comfortable managing substantial capital projects and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the business.

You will need:
  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience delivering engineering or capital projects within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing projects from concept through to installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Strong understanding of equipment specification, procurement, contractor management and construction activity.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, including project budgeting, cost control and change management.
  • Strong knowledge of UK engineering, health and safety and compliance legislation.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders and project deadlines.
  • Clear communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Experience
  • Food manufacturing, bakery, ingredients, coatings, seasonings or dry-blending environments.
  • PRINCE2, PMP or another recognised project management qualification.
  • Automation, electrical control systems or process-control exposure.
  • ATEX/DSEAR environments.
  • MRP or ERP systems.
  • BRCGS or similarly regulated manufacturing standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Engineering Project Manager to join a well-established international manufacturer and make a genuine impact through major site and group-wide investment projects.
