Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to join the PPP Team in Birchwood, UK. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering delivery on major projects within a regulated environment, coordinating strategy, risk, schedule and cost.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status, proven EPC leadership, and familiarity with CDM regulations. You will mentor a diverse team of up to 80 engineers and collaborate with the intelligent client to deliver safe, on-time outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading major engineering delivery on EPC projects.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Nuclear/regulated industry and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior point of contact for all Engineering matters on a major PPP project, including engineering strategy, execution, risk, schedule, and cost delivery.
• Represent the senior engineering point of contact for Management Board Project Status reviews.
• Lead internal Amentum monthly project reviews as the senior engineering point of contact.
• Create and lead a multi-disciplinary team across CSA, Mechanical, CE&I safety, etc., up to ~80 people.
• Collaborate with intelligent client and stakeholders to ensure robust engineering strategies and execution.
• Drive Learning from Experience and continuous improvement activities.

Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Engineering Project Manager to join the PPP Team in Birchwood.

As an Engineering Project Manager some of your responsibilities will include:

• Act as the senior point of contact for all Engineering related matters for a major project within the PPP framework including but not limited to; Overall Engineering strategy and Engineering execution, Engineering risk management, Engineering schedule delivery and Engineering cost delivery.
• Act as the senior engineering point of contact for Management Board Project Status reviews
• Act as the senior point of contact for Internal Amentum monthly project reviews
• Responsible for creating and leading a multi-disciplinary team across all major disciplines such CSA, Mechanical, CE&I safety etc. which could be up to circa 80 people.
• Working alongside key stakeholders including intelligent client to ensure engineering strategies and engineering execution are robust are underpinned
• Instigation of Learning from Experience/continuous improvement activities

As an Engineering Project Manager, you will need to demonstrate the following:

• Proven experience of leading major engineering delivery on EPC projects
• Proven experience acting as the Principal Designer under CDM regulations.
• Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of the Nuclear Industry (or similar regulated Industry), Regulatory Framework and Safety requirements
• Experience with change control, forecasting, and performance management
• Experience of benefits realisation on projects and the challenges that need to be overcome
