Yolk Recruitment is partnering with an established engineering business in Cardiff to recruit a Project Controller responsible for keeping major long-term contracts on track. You will coordinate across engineering, production, purchasing, quality, planning and finance, ensuring milestones and contractual deliverables are met.

This role suits someone with project management experience in engineering/manufacturing, strong Excel skills, and a proactive mindset to learn and grow within a growing

Qualifications

• Experience supporting or coordinating projects in engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Strong Excel skills with project data, schedules and documentation.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Confident communication with cross-functional teams.
• Proactive ownership and problem-solving to keep projects moving.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day execution and delivery of major engineering projects.
• Maintain project plans and schedules aligned with contractual requirements and delivery dates.
• Track milestones, actions, deadlines and deliverables to keep projects on schedule.
• Maintain project risk registers and support mitigation plans.
• Coordinate activity across engineering, production, purchasing, quality, planning and finance.
• Liaise with purchasing to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials and subcontractor requirements.
• Expedite outstanding orders and work with operations to keep activity moving.
• Liaise with planning to ensure production schedules support delivery requirements.
• Work with Quality to meet contractual and project requirements.
• Support project purchasing and monitor progress of materials and subcontracted work.
• Ensure milestone paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
• Contribute to contract reviews and ensure plans reflect contractual requirements.
• Participate in customer meetings and support customer communication as required.
• Provide project updates and communicate progress, risks, issues and actions to stakeholders.
• Develop understanding of products and manufacturing processes to improve project control and delivery.
