Job summary

PWHytek Ltd. is recruiting a Project Controls Manager to support a major nuclear project. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on control of project data, reporting, and governance.

The position offers hybrid working with a base in Warrington or Preston, a 12-month contract inside IR35 or a permanent staff option, and a competitive package with enhanced benefits. Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in engineering, project management, or related discipline.
• Strong experience in project controls or planning.
• Experience with large, complex data systems and governance.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement of enterprise project controls systems across programmes.
• Lead on production and use of automated reports and dashboards for data-driven decisions.
• Manage systems, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and governance of project data.
• Act as SME, troubleshoot issues and advise on best practice.
• Collaborate with project managers, controllers and global teams to deliver integrated solutions.

This role draws upon specialised depth and breadth of expertise to undertake complex assignments, and provides technical leadership and direction to junior roles.

The client is offering hybrid working with a base officeinWarrington or Prestonand either a12 Month Contract + Extensions Inside IR35 or a Permanent staff role with a brilliant package with enhanced benefits.

Experience:

Responsibilities of the Project Controls Manager

• Driving the continuous improvement of the enterprise project controls systems across programmes
• Leading on the production and use of automated reports and dashboards to enable data-driven decision‑making
• Managing systems and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and governance of project data
• Acting as a subject matter expert, troubleshooting issues and advising on best practice
• Collaborating with project managers, project controllers and the Babcock global project controls teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Essential experience of the Project Controls Manager:

• Demonstrating strong experience in project controls, cost engineering, or project planning
• Using industry-standard tools such as Primavera P6, SAP, Risk Hive, or Deltek Cobra
• Managing and maintaining complex data systems within a project environment
• Influencing stakeholders and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
• Delivering outcomes in a fast‑paced, programme‑driven environment.

Qualifications for the Project Controls Manager:

• Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, project management, or a related discipline
• Professional accreditation (such as APM or equivalent) is desirable.
