Job description

Job Description: Engineering Process Lead Location: Hampshire (onsite 5 days per week) Due to the nature of the work and the customers we support, the successful candidate must be eligible to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including the applicable residency requirements for the role, and have the right to work in the United Kingdom. Some roles may also be subject to nationality requirements where these are necessary to meet UK Government or contractual security obligations. DXC Technology is seeking an experienced Engineering Process Lead to be responsible for the design and implementation of engineering processes supporting delivery of a disconnected Private Cloud and resident Tenant Information System Services, including security and safety considerations. The environment is high-security and requires all processes, tooling, and deliveries to be designed and executed within disconnected constraints. The role operates within a customer-defined Systems Engineering Management Plan, ensuring its successful instantiation. The successful candidate will be accountable for embedding the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), agile delivery practices, and automated testing into the IT services delivered to the customer. This includes ownership of the Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline design and implementation using appropriate tooling to support agile deliveries. The engineering process and supporting toolset are already established. This role will take ownership of the existing implementation, driving its maturity and continuous improvement rather than building from scratch. This role is critical to ensuring consistent, compliant, and efficient ways of working that support high-quality engineering delivery and enable programme success. At DXC Technology, we are committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone can succeed. We actively encourage applications from neurodiverse individuals, women, and those from other underrepresented groups in technology.

As the Engineering Process Lead, you will take ownership of the engineering process framework across the systems lifecycle. You will ensure processes are aligned to regulatory, customer, and internal standards, while driving adoption, efficiency, and continuous improvement of the engineering processes. You will act as the focal point for process governance, working closely with engineering, quality, and programme stakeholders to embed best practices and improve delivery outcomes. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. The role does not include the management of the Systems Team, which sits under the Systems Team Lead. The focus is on engineering process and toolset ownership, not team or people management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and govern the engineering process framework, including requirements management, design governance, configuration control, change management, verification, and release processes.
  • Ensure engineering processes align with regulatory, customer, and internal quality standards.
  • Own the CI/CD pipeline and tooling to support agile deliveries incorporating automated test tooling.
  • Support broader tooling used to support the engineering processes (e.g. Azure DevOps Server, Jira, Confluence, Ansible).

  • Root cause analysis and process correction when delivery issues arise.
  • Collaborate with discipline leads to remove inefficiency and standardise practice.
  • Maintain process documentation, templates, and guidance materials.
  • Monitor and report on process adherence and performance using audits and metrics.
  • Act as the central point of contact for process-related queries, escalations, and governance decisions.
  • Support programme teams in adopting consistent, traceable, and audit-ready engineering practices.
  • Define and maintain engineering process maturity assessments and improvement roadmaps.
  • Ensure tooling configuration supports traceability from requirements through to verification evidence.
