Job description

A growing food manufacturer are seeking a Engineering Planner and Stores Administrator, to join their engineering team. In this non-technical, highly collaborative position within the engineering and maintenance sector, you'll help keep maintenance work moving smoothly, improve spare parts availability, and support better decision-making through clear reporting and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do:
  • Review and refine PPM schedules and regimes to create an effective maintenance plan for planned work.
  • Coordinate maintenance request reviews, ensuring tasks are prioritised, scheduled, and allocated with timely feedback to request originators.
  • Develop and maintain robust spares stock management processes, including accurate records of quantities and value.
  • Apply 5S principles to improve stock visibility, enabling easy put-away and quick retrieval of critical items.
  • Support performance reporting using KPIs such as analysing maintenance and inventory trends to drive improvements.
  • Manage maintenance spend requests by raising and tracking requests, ensuring pre-authorisation and accurate allocation to revenue or capital spend.
What You Will Bring:
  • Proven experience in engineering or maintenance environments, ideally supporting maintenance planning or stores functions.
  • Strong confidence using Microsoft Office, plus experience with systems such as SAP and Ariba (training support will be provided where needed).
  • Excellent organisation and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to influence across teams, including maintenance, production, supply chain, and stakeholders at different levels.
  • A data-minded approach, comfortable working with figures and using analysis to spot trends and recommend improvements.
