Job description

Ready to take your engineering career to the next level? We're looking for a passionate, organised and solutions-focused Engineering & Reliability Planner to join our team in Norwich. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in keeping our systems, plant and equipment reliable, efficient and performing at their best. You'll be at the heart of our maintenance strategy, helping us move from reactive fixes to smarter, more proactive and predictive maintenance. If you enjoy solving problems, improving reliability and working with people across an operation to make things happen, this could be the role for you!

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Developing and maintaining planned, preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
  • Creating and continuously improving PPM schedules for new and existing plant and equipment.
  • Working closely with the Engineering Administrator to manage rotating equipment maintenance schedules and improve equipment reliability.
  • Reviewing and auditing maintenance documentation to ensure standards are consistently met.
  • Supporting commissioning activities and developing appropriate service and PPM schedules.
  • Communicating maintenance plans and requirements clearly across the engineering and wider operational teams.
  • Carrying out FMEA assessments and implementing improvements to prevent recurring failures.
  • Managing key building services, including boilers, compressors and cooling/AHU systems.
  • Evaluating critical spares and stock requirements for new and existing equipment.
  • Developing and implementing condition‑based maintenance programmes.
  • Coordinating condition‑monitoring activities and planning the resulting maintenance work.
  • Maintaining accurate equipment histories and cost records, working with Production and Engineering Management to identify opportunities to improve reliability.
  • Analysing engineering and production reports to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Providing weekly updates on PPM completion and engineering utilisation.
  • Maintaining and continuously improving our site CMMS system, SHIRE PARANHA.

We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious, highly organised and enjoys getting to the bottom of engineering problems.

You’ll Ideally Have
  • A strong educational background, preferably within an engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in engineering and maintenance planning.
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality, health & safety, environmental and cost-management requirements.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to engage frontline colleagues and bring teams together around common goals.
  • Confidence influencing cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
Personality Traits
  • Organised – You like having a clear plan and making sure things get done.
  • Task‑driven – You take ownership and follow through.
  • Passionate – You care about engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
  • A problem solver – You enjoy finding the root cause, not just fixing the symptom.
  • Personable – You build strong relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Diligent & detail‑focused – You understand that the small details can make a big difference.
  • Flexible – You’re comfortable adapting to changing priorities.
  • Focused – You’re motivated by achieving challenging objectives and delivering results.
