Job summary

Pertemps Reading is seeking an Engineering Parts Coordinator in Swindon to manage precision components for production. The role blends workshop activity with office duties, ensuring accurate selection, documentation and stock control for multiple projects.

You will work closely with technicians, engineers and customers, maintaining traceability and timely availability of parts while handling emails and calls in a proactive, detail‑focused environment.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using computer systems.
  • A professional telephone manner with confidence speaking to customers and suppliers.
  • Experience working with stock control, parts management or technical documentation.
  • The ability to follow work orders and maintain full traceability.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick and prepare precision engineers' components for technicians.
  • Cross-reference work orders and production requirements to ensure correct parts.
  • Maintain full traceability of components throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Carry out stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies with parts, documentation or stock levels.
  • Support technicians by ensuring all required components and equipment are available.
  • Prepare and package completed orders for quality inspection and assembly.
  • Manage incoming phone calls and emails, providing professional communication.
  • Liaise with clients and internal departments to provide updates and resolve queries.
  • Work to deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a busy engineering environment.
  • Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Excel and internal systems.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard with exceptional attention to detail.

Engineering Parts Coordinator

Location: Swindon

Salary: £25,000-£28,000 per annum (DOE)

Hours: Monday-Friday | Full time | Overtime Available

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering company specialising in the manufacture of high-precision components. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a highly organised, proactive and detail-focused Engineering Parts Coordinator to join their team.

This is a varied and hands‑on role combining both workshop and office responsibilities. You will work closely with skilled technicians, engineers, customers and internal teams to ensure components, documentation and production requirements are managed accurately and efficiently.

The successful candidate will spend a significant amount of time within the workshop, accurately selecting, preparing and controlling intricate engineering parts and equipment required for production. You will also provide administrative support from the office, managing emails, handling incoming calls and liaising with customers and internal stakeholders.

This role would suit someone who enjoys a fast‑paced environment, is comfortable being hands‑on, and takes pride in accuracy, organisation and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A practical approach and willingness to be hands‑on within a workshop environment.
