Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd seeks an Engineering Parts Coordinator in Swindon for a full‑time role Monday to Friday. You will manage components and documentation across workshop and office settings, using Excel and internal systems to maintain traceability and accurate records.

You will liaise with technicians, customers and suppliers, pick and prepare parts, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely delivery of orders while meeting quality standards in a fast‑paced engineering environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, production or a technical environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using computer systems.
  • A professional telephone manner with confidence speaking to customers and suppliers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with stock control, parts management or technical documentation.
  • The ability to accurately follow work orders and maintain full traceability.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings or technical specifications (advantageous).
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A practical approach and willingness to be hands‑on within a workshop environment.
  • Physically active role requiring time spent on feet within the workshop, selecting and preparing components.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment where accuracy and efficiency are essential.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick and prepare components and equipment for technicians.
  • Cross-reference work orders, engineering docs and production requirements to ensure correct parts are issued.
  • Maintain full traceability of components throughout the process.
  • Carry out stock checks and keep accurate inventory records.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies with parts, documentation or stock levels.
  • Support technicians by ensuring required components are available when needed.
  • Prepare and package completed orders for quality inspection and assembly.
  • Manage incoming calls and emails with customers and suppliers.
  • Liaise with clients and internal departments to provide updates and resolve queries.
  • Work to deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a busy engineering environment.
  • Maintain accurate records using Excel and internal systems.
  • Ensure work is completed to a high standard with attention to detail.

Engineering Parts Coordinator (Swindon)
Overview

Full-time role (Monday-Friday) responsible for managing components and documentation across workshop and office settings in a leading engineering firm that manufactures high-precision components. Salary £25,000–£28,000 per annum (DOE) with overtime available.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately pick and prepare precision-engineered components and equipment for technicians.
  • Cross-reference work orders, engineering documentation and production requirements to ensure correct parts are issued.
  • Maintain full traceability of components throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Carry out stock checks and keep accurate inventory records.
