Morson Group on behalf of our client seeks an Engineering Operations Manager in the London area, with travel to different sites as required. The role blends commercial insight with client relationship management and operational delivery of engineering maintenance services.

It requires leadership in safety compliance, performance management, and successful delivery of contracted services. Temporary to permanent, with hourly pay options (£36.47–£48.15) and strong focus on continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Technical qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering are required.
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification preferred.
• Desirable: IWFM, RICS, or equivalent professional qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own strategic account plans and manage risk registers.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and oversee contract renewals.
• Lead safety compliance, audits, and statutory inspections.
• Manage contract variations and monitor financial performance.
• Coordinate vendor relationships and deliver monthly performance reports and QBRs.
• Oversee resource management, including out-of-hours rotas, training matrices, and vehicle management.

Job description

My client is seeking an Engineering Operations Manager in the London area. Travelling to other sites will be required.

This role combines commercial insight, client relationship management, and operational oversight to ensure contract profitability, client satisfaction, and continuous service improvement.

Key responsibilities include developing and owning strategic account plans, managing risk registers, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and overseeing contract renewals.

The role demands leadership in safety compliance, team performance management, and operational delivery of engineering maintenance services.

The manager will lead health and safety programmes, conduct audits and investigations, and ensure statutory inspections are completed. They will also manage contract variations, financial performance, and vendor relationships, ensuring value for money and compliance with contractual obligations. Strong client engagement is essential, including delivering monthly performance reports and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).

The role requires effective resource management, including out-of-hours rotas, training matrices, and vehicle management, to maintain operational excellence and team development.

This is a temp to perm role paying £36.47 per hour PAYE + holiday pay or £48.15 per hour umbrella.
