Job summary
Homeprotect Home Insurance is seeking a product-minded Engineering Manager to lead the Underwriting & Pricing engineering capability in London. You will grow a high-performing team, partner with Product, Actuarial and Commercial stakeholders, and ensure the pricing platform evolves safely while enabling faster business change.
The role focuses on reliability, scalability and modern engineering practices, balancing long-term platform health with urgent delivery needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading engineering teams with accountability for delivery and health.
- Strong background engaging on architecture and distributed backend systems.
- Hands-on DevOps and CI/CD with cloud-native development.
- Experience with high-availability production systems.
Responsibilities
- Build and grow a high-performing engineering team.
- Define and evolve technical roadmap for pricing platform.
- Deliver outcomes with quality and resilience.
- Ensure safe changes via testing and automation.
- Modernise legacy pricing platforms while maintaining stability.
- Improve engineering metrics and incident response.
- Collaborate with Product, Actuarial and Commercial teams.
- Champion AI-assisted development where appropriate.
