Job summary

BJAK is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team building and scaling products used by millions across the region. You will guide engineers, set architecture directions, and be accountable for both team quality and the impact of what is shipped.

This hybrid role requires strong technical leadership, close collaboration with product, design, mobile, backend and AI teams, and a focus on delivering customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or managing software engineers and owning engineering delivery.
• Strong technical depth across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, distributed systems or cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to make sound architecture and trade-offs balancing speed, scalability and maintainability.
• Strong track record of taking products or systems from idea to production.
• Ability to review technical designs, challenging engineering decisions and debugging complex production issues.
• Strong people leadership with the ability to coach engineers, manage performance and build high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers across frontend, backend and full stack.
• Own delivery for major product areas with reliable, high-quality ships.
• Collaborate with product, design, mobile, backend and AI teams to translate problems into execution.
• Drive architecture decisions across APIs, databases, integrations, and infra.
• Set standards for code quality, design, testing, observability, security and reliability.
• Develop engineers through feedback, coaching and clear expectations.
• Identify performance gaps and raise the team's engineering and execution bar.
• Improve processes, tooling and automation for speed and scale.
• Monitor production outcomes and resolve incidents.
• Build a culture of ownership, speed, technical excellence and continuous improvement.
