Job summary

BJAK is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team building and scaling products used by millions across the region. You will set engineering standards, guide architecture, and ensure delivery from idea to production.

This hybrid role requires strong technical depth in backend, frontend, APIs and cloud infrastructure, plus proven leadership to coach engineers, improve processes and align decisions with customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with production systems experience.
• Experience leading software engineers and owning engineering delivery.
• Strong depth across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, distributed systems or cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to make sound architectural trade-offs balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability.
• Proven track record from idea to launch and production.
• Comfortable reviewing designs and debugging complex production issues.
• People leadership with coaching and performance management.
• Strong product sense and ability to connect engineering decisions to customer and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers across frontend, backend and full stack development.
• Own engineering delivery for major product areas, ensuring fast delivery with reliability and quality.
• Collaborate with product, design, mobile, backend and AI teams to turn product problems into clear technical execution.
• Drive architectural decisions across APIs, databases, integrations, infrastructure and customer-facing systems.
• Set engineering standards around code quality, design, testing, observability, security and reliability.
• Develop engineers through regular feedback, coaching and performance management.
• Identify performance gaps and raise the team's engineering and execution bar.
• Improve engineering processes, tooling and automation to move faster at scale.
• Own production outcomes beyond release: monitor, resolve incidents and prevent repeats.
